The "solidarity cab," a free public transportation project designed to benefit the weaker sections of society, has kicked off in Milan.

Starting March 1, 24 hours a day and for up to 6 months (or until funds run out), this facility designed to benefit the elderly over 65, minors in the community, the disabled and citizens with socioeconomic difficulties will be active.

The project

The project, promoted by the Guido Venosta Foundation, has as its budget 1 million euros to cover the cost of the rides, has seen the involvement of the Radiotaxi economic structures operating in Milan, the Tam, Satam, Unione Artigiani and Taxi Service group trade associations, along with, of course, Dr. Giuseppe Caprotti, President of the Foundation.

Pride on the part of Radiotaxi 02.8585 in being part of such an important solidarity initiative in favor of the neediest Milanese to whom other categories such as medical and paramedical personnel and perhaps even citizens who will have to go to vaccination centers could be added, after precisely the first 6 months budgeted.

Joining the initiative is very simple: just call "Milano Aiuta" through the city's call center, at the number 020202, to be put in direct contact with the call center to which the three radio cabs refer, including Radiotaxi Milan 028585, who will arrange, immediately or even by appointment up to three days in advance, to take the call and make a car available.

When is the service active ?

The service Solidarity Taxi will operate daily 24 hours a day until the available funds made available by the Guido Venosta Foundation are exhausted, but no later than September 1.

Who is the initiative aimed at ?

The initiative is aimed at the elderly over 65, all people with disabilities, volunteers active in the "Milano Aiuta" network, minors placed in the community, and, more generally, all citizens with serious socioeconomic difficulties.
